Rhinestone Material 

 

  • AB Rhinestones 

The term “AB” stands for Aurora Borealis. Aurora Borealis gives a pearl or a rhinestone an iridescent coding that illuminates a variety of different colors, almost like a color shift effect. You can find the AB coding on glass rhinestones, resin rhinestones, jelly rhinestones, transparent rhinestones as well as pearl rhinestones.

 

  • Resin Rhinestones

Resin rhinestones are made by plastic resin placed into a silicon mold. The manufacturers are able to make the stone with complex designs on the surface.

 

  • Transparent Rhinestones

Transparent rhinestones are made from acrylic material that is transparent & is also know as acrylic rhinestones.

Transparent rhinestones are completely clear with no foil backing.

 

  • Jelly Rhinestones

A jelly rhinestone is made from plastic & is a less expensive alternative compared to glass or acrylic rhinestones. Jelly rhinestones also have the same jelly look from front to back with no foil backing. 

 

  • Pearl Rhinestones 

Pearl Rhinestones are made from acrylic/plastic. The give a classic look & look amazing when combined with a rhinestone mix. Pearls can also come in “AB” colors as well.

 

  • Glass Rhinestones

 Glass rhinestones are made from glass. The glass rhinestone is transparent with a foil backing. It resembles the shine of an actual diamond & it’s more high end in cost compared to resin rhinestone. Glass rhinestones are a lower cost compared to Swarovski rhinestones.
